Testing Off-Nominal Conditions: Inside Our Joint Airspace Simulation with NASA

Against the record

Wisk Generation 6, from Wisk Aero, is at stage 1 of 5 on our ladder: demo only. Shown in videos or staged events; no units with customers. The latest milestone on its record is from 10 Aug 2026: Boeing agreed to hand Wisk, together with drone maker Insitu and SkyGrid, to Archer Aviation in exchange for a stake of nearly 20% in Archer. Boeing keeps access to Wisk's self-flying technology.

This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.

From the video's description

When testing autonomous flight, the most critical data comes from off-nominal scenarios. In our joint airspace simulation with NASA Ames Research Center, Michael Johnson, Wisk's Sr. Manager of Autonomous Flight Supervision Systems, breaks down how our framework handles real-world disruptions, including lost C2 links, weather diversions, and traffic conflicts. The team tested both 1:1 supervision and 1:many multi-aircraft management during high-density operations, validating that ground supervisors can maintain safe cognitive workload when unexpected events occur.
