New Crop in Under a Week: Alchemy Deploys Element Crop Management Robots in Lettuce
Against the record
Element, from Aigen, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 16 Sept 2026: Aigen launched the Element Gen 2 X4, which weeds both in and between crop rows, with fleets offered for the 2027 season. It said it had built more than 100 robots.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
With U.S. diesel up 70% from a year ago, Aigen's solar-powered Element robots manage crops with no diesel and no herbicides. Alchemy, Aigen's world model, put Element to work in a new crop, lettuce, in under a week. This video shows how: simulate, generate, train, deploy. Alchemy is Aigen's suite of simulation tools and world models. It generates field conditions on demand, with every plant annotated to the pixel. Element trains on that data, then goes to work as a full crop management system. It counts crops, tracks crop health, detects early signs of disease and fungal infection, maps weed pressure, and removes weeds mechanically at the root: in the row, between rows and under the crop canopy, reliably up to 6 inches in foliage diameter. Element runs entirely on solar, with solar-charged battery backup, at a predictable per-acre cost set before the season. Element comes in two-, thre…
