Against the record
Element, from Aigen, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 16 Sept 2026: Aigen launched the Element Gen 2 X4, which weeds both in and between crop rows, with fleets offered for the 2027 season. It said it had built more than 100 robots.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
Say hello to Element, our first solar-powered weeding robot. Element uses cameras and AI to identify weeds, then removes them mechanically. No herbicides, no diesel, no emissions. It runs entirely on energy from the sun. This is our first generation, and we're testing it in real fields with real crops. There's a lot still to learn, but every acre teaches us something new about what it takes to run autonomous robots in production agriculture. We're building toward a future where farmers have a cleaner, cheaper alternative to chemical weed control. This is step one. Learn more at aigen.io
