Wingcopter Drones Fly Blood Samples in Germany
Against the record
Wingcopter 198, from Wingcopter, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 14 Sept 2026: Wingcopter launched the Wingcopter 262, a military reconnaissance drone it says can stay in the air for up to six hours.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
In June 2021, Wingcopter drones transported blood samples in the Northeast German federal state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania between Greifswald and Wolgast over a distance of 26 kilometers (16 miles). The flights were carried out by Greifswald University Medical Center in cooperation with DRF Luftrettung and Wingcopter as part of the MV|LIFE|DRONE Challenge project of the hospital's Department of Anesthesiology. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Energy, Infrastructure and Digitalization of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and intends to improve structures of regional emergency care by integrating Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) into the rescue chain and emergency medical transports.
