How a 1,200-Bed Hospital Put Delivery Robots to Work in Pharmacy
Against the record
Relay, from Relay Robotics (formerly Savioke), is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 30 Sept 2026: Relay put two robots, named Dash and Daisy, into HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis, Florida, to carry lab samples, pharmacy orders and medicines.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
When his hospital's oncology pharmacy moved to the far side of a 1,200-bed academic medical center, John Hill had two choices. He could hire temporary staff to walk the extra 15–20 minutes per delivery, or he could try something new. He chose Relay's autonomous delivery robots, and the pilot grew into a hospital-wide program. In this conversation, Sultan Mehrabi, CEO of Relay Robotics, talks with John Hill, pharmacy executive at Vizient, about what it really takes to bring robots into a busy hospital. What we cover: • Building the business case: comparing robots against temporary staffing • Getting IT, cybersecurity and C-suite approval • How the robot handled crowded lobbies • Staff worries about being replaced, and why nurses ended up racing to open the robot • The metrics they tracked: deliveries, delivery time and steps saved • Moving from robots owned by each department to a share…
