Grocery Sortation: How Stride™ Reduces Labor and Manual Work

Against the record

Berkshire Grey robotic picking and sorting, from Berkshire Grey, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 18 June 2026: Berkshire Grey opened a customer centre in Haarlem, near Amsterdam, to grow in Europe.

This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.

From the video's description

Grocery replenishment demands speed, accuracy, and the ability to do more with the labor and space you already have. Noah Maynard explains how Berkshire Grey’s Stride™ Shuttle Sorter simplifies grocery sortation by eliminating walking between destinations, reducing manual container handling, and making induction easier for operators. Stride also supports multi-unit induction, allowing associates to induct multiple units of the same item in a single event. When an order is complete, automatic takeaway ejects the container and sends it downstream without requiring a separate workforce to manage the process. For grocery operations facing labor challenges, aging infrastructure, or inefficient manual put and break-pack processes, Stride offers a more automated approach to store replenishment.
