Grocery Sortation: Replacing Manual Put-to-Store with Stride™
Against the record
Berkshire Grey robotic picking and sorting, from Berkshire Grey, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 18 June 2026: Berkshire Grey opened a customer centre in Haarlem, near Amsterdam, to grow in Europe.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
How can grocery distribution centers add automation without disrupting live operations? Noah Maynard shares a real-world example of Stride™ replacing a manual put-to-store process for a grocery customer. The operation was moving slow-moving inventory from an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) into manual put-to-light lines for store replenishment. With Stride, the customer reduced the space required for the put process by approximately 50% while supporting the required throughput within the existing footprint. The system sorts a diverse mix of general merchandise and health and beauty products, including tubes, sticks, and other items that can be challenging for traditional sortation. Stride was deployed alongside the customer’s existing operation, allowing the team to transition to automation while continuing to meet store shipments. Learn more about Stride and Berkshire …
