In the first IIHS (an insurance-industry safety group) ratings of how driver-assist systems keep drivers alert, Super Cruise was the only one of 14 systems to meet every test for handling a driver who stops responding. IIHS faulted it for changing lanes without any driver input.

Super Cruise, from General Motors, is at stage 5 of 5 on our ladder: regulator-cleared or mass market. Safety events don't move a stage on their own, but they stay on the robot's record.
