Touring Automate 2026: How Do Robots Get Installed?
Against the record
FieldPrinter, from Dusty Robotics, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 10 Oct 2024: Dusty made FieldPrinter 2 generally available, and said contractors had printed more than 100 million square feet of layout with its robots.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
Dusty spent Automate 2026 asking other industrial robots one question: "How'd you get installed?" Turns out even cutting-edge robots that weld cars and run lights-out shifts are still positioned with a beat-up tape measure and a wish. Dusty prints digital designs straight onto the facility floor — anchor points, baseplate positions, conveyor and cell centerlines — accurate to +/-0.5mm. So the crew installing your automation gets it right the first time, and gets your facility back online faster. If you're installing the latest robotic tech with tools from the stone ages, maybe it's time you get Dusty. #AutomateShow2026 #IndustrialAutomation #AutomatedLayout
