The Welding Robot Built for Ships & Mining: Mantis™ Passes FAT
Against the record
Hadrian X, from FBR (formerly Fastbrick Robotics), is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from Oct 2026: FBR's website offers Hadrian for purchase by selected partners, at a base price of A$7.8 million. It lists a top speed of 360 blocks an hour.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.

In this update, CEO Mark Pivac covers what the milestone means and what comes next: - The FAT result and the deposit payment. - How quickly FBR went from a new concept for a DST® application to a product in the market. - Our new US distributor and dealer, Industrial Robotics, LLC (in Kenner, Louisiana). - Upcoming demonstrations for potential clients from Western Australia and overseas, including Korean shipyards. - Putting Mantis™ to work on real customer parts to prove its economic viability. Mantis™ is designed to weld parts of very large structures that previously couldn’t be welded with welding robots, including ships, mining trucks and buckets, chutes and bridges. Learn more abo…
