Mantis™ Reaches Final Form: Twin-Wire High-Deposition Welding
Against the record
Hadrian X, from FBR (formerly Fastbrick Robotics), is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from Oct 2026: FBR's website offers Hadrian for purchase by selected partners, at a base price of A$7.8 million. It lists a top speed of 360 blocks an hour.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
Mantis™ has reached its final form and is now being commissioned and calibrated for high-deposition welding trials. In this update, CEO Mark Pivac takes us across Mantis™ and explains the technology behind the system, including its twin-wire welding torch, dual power sources, high wire-feed capability and ability to operate at significant heights. Mantis™ has been designed from the ground up for large-scale fabrication environments, including shipbuilding, heavy structural steel fabrication, mining, defence, pressure vessels and infrastructure. Mark also discusses the potential market opportunity for Mantis™, including FBR’s analysis of approximately 18,000 facilities globally that could potentially utilise the technology. Welding trials and demonstrations are coming soon. Website: https://www.fbr.com.au LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fbr-ltd YouTube: https://www.youtube…
