- Tesla's AI vice president said Tesla was building its own maps from what its cars collectively learn, to fix FSD problems with speed limits, parking and choosing routes.
- Tesla said it expected unsupervised FSD, meaning customers' cars driving themselves with nobody paying attention, to reach customer cars in the middle of 2027, instead of its usual "end of next year" answer.
- Tesla said it had 1.74 million active FSD subscriptions in its third-quarter 2026 report, up 67% in a year, a count that also includes owners who paid upfront.
- Tesla said unsupervised Full Self-Driving, with no driver watching, would reach customer-owned cars in Q2 2027, at first only by owners adding their cars to its Robotaxi fleet inside its zones.
- Tesla's AI software head said customer-owned cars might first drive without supervision around the second quarter of next year, later than the fourth-quarter 2026 target Musk had given in April.
- A Belgian road safety group found that FSD drove over the limit in 55% of the 30 km/h zones it tested in Brussels, averaging 44 km/h.
