Against the record
Symani, from MMI (Medical Microinstruments), is at stage 5 of 5 on our ladder: regulator-cleared or mass market. Cleared where approval applies, or widely sold. The latest milestone on its record is from 4 May 2026: Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida did the first operation in a US study (REMIND) testing Symani microsurgery for Alzheimer's and similar brain diseases. The study plans 15 patients.

From the video's description
Watch Janine’s story to hear about her robotic-assisted breast reconstruction with the Symani Surgical System. Janine opted to pursue autologous breast reconstruction with the help of Professor Maximilian Kückelhaus, University of Münster, after an unsuccessful implant-based reconstruction following breast cancer surgery in 2012. Prof. Kückelhaus used Symani to perform a DIEP breast reconstruction, utilizing Janine’s own tissue to reconstruct her breasts. Learn more about the potential benefits Symani may bring to breast cancer patients interested in reconstruction using their own tissue following mastectomy: https://tinyurl.com/fafpjdme…
