Against the record
Matic, from Matic Robots, is at stage 4 of 5 on our ladder: paying customers. Delivered and paid for, beyond pilots. The latest milestone on its record is from 5 Oct 2026: The Verge reported that Matic had gone from 1,500 robots shipped a year earlier to 17,000 in homes.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
Matic automatically detects whether it's on hard floor or carpet to clean each surface the right way. But if it ever gets a floor type wrong, you can fix it yourself. In this video, we'll show you how to manually edit floor type labels in the Matic app, marking an area as hard floor or carpet so Matic cleans it correctly every time.
