Agrobot Kiko: Narrow-Row Autonomous Navigation in California Raspberries
Against the record
Agrobot strawberry harvester, from Agrobot, is at stage 3 of 5 on our ladder: pilot. Working with a named customer in a real setting. The latest milestone on its record is from 26 July 2019: Future Farming reported Agrobot robots harvesting strawberries in California, on a machine with 30 robot arms.
This video comes from the maker's own channel, and makers show their robots at their best. The stage above comes from dated public records, not from the video.
From the video's description
Agrobot Kiko Navigating Dense Raspberry Rows — Unedited Field Footage (Single Take) In high-value specialty crop farming and greenhouse configurations, spacing is tight. As canopies grow vigorously, the branches expand directly into the center of the drive row. Standard utility tractors bruise these overlapping branches, causing significant fruit drop right off the tips of the limbs. We engineered the fully electric Agrobot Kiko platform with an ultra-narrow, low-profile footprint to solve this specific field challenge. Key Design Advantages for Specialty Crop Growers: 🔹 Minimized Fruit Drop: The ultra-low-profile chassis allows heavy canopies to hang safely above the vehicle frame, protecting high-value fruit at the tips of the branches. 🔹 Space Optimization: Engineered to operate efficiently inside narrow-row designs where standard tractor widths cause costly friction or structu…
