- Mercedes-Benz dropped its plan to offer an updated Drive Pilot on the new S-Class after rethinking US rules and what customers would get from it.
- Germany's Handelsblatt reported that Mercedes would not offer Drive Pilot on the updated S-Class, and the updated EQS would also leave it out. It is replacing it with a Level 2 system, where the driver must watch the road at all times.
- Mercedes-Benz said an upgraded Drive Pilot could drive itself at up to 95 km/h (59 mph) on German highways.
- California's DMV gave Mercedes-Benz a permit to sell cars with Drive Pilot for use on some highways in the Bay Area, Central Valley, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Diego.
